Andrew Smith - Aldershot Counselling and Psychotherapy
About Me
Qualifying in 2017, my counselling career has given me experience in the NHS, charity and education sectors and private practice. From an early age, I knew that I wanted to help people as a vocation and my life experiences started to lead me down the path toward counselling and psychotherapy at a relatively early age. I started my initial training when I was 24, the youngest person in my class, and qualified when I was 27.

I have had particular experience working with younger people from the ages of 10 to 24 as well as boys and men and people who are neurodivergent.
I think good experiences of counselling and therapy stem from a robust therapeutic relationship. When working with people, I want to try and ensure that we both feel at the same level, that we can trust each other and feel safe in the space. I am there to offer support and do what I can to help create a sense of safety. The most important person in the room is you, and I will try to adapt my approach to help you feel as comfortable as possible.
